Guide: Installing Artificial Nexus on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Artificial Nexus? Features and Description

Susan has woken up in a strange, coffin-like device, with no memory of who or where she is. Uncover the answers in this visual novel as you solve puzzles to escape in a stunning sci-fi mystery investigation!

“Where...am I? And...who am I?”

Those are the words that Susan asks herself when she’s woken up in a strange, high-tech coffin-like device in an otherwise empty room. Beyond her name she has no memory of her past. A voice over the intercom, Hank, tells her that she’s in a facility owned by a tech company, but she’s never heard of it.

Susan must leave the building to find out who she is, but things get more complicated when she discovers that the facility is under attack. She will have to use all of her wits and luck to get out of the building, but even if she can do that, will she uncover the mysteries of her past?

------

Artificial Nexus is a sci-fi mystery investigation game, which plays as a visual novel/point-and-click hybrid. In order to escape from the building and learn about Susan's past, you'll need to move around to multiple locations, find hidden codes, race against time, and control computers, all while avoiding the enemies who have attacked the building. If you're cunning enough you may even be able to discover some of the secret unlockables...

Some of the features of the game include:
  • More than just dialogue trees - Artificial Nexus places you in a location where you can control what you do and where. The rate you progress is controlled by you, and you have a wide array of options available to you in each room.
  • Voice acting - all important story scenes are fully voice acted by the talented Bree Frankel and Shaun Mendum.
  • An engaging and thrilling mystery - who is Susan, and how did she get into the building? Who is the perpetrator of the attack? Is any of this really happening?
  • Clever puzzles to solve - you'll need to rely on your own brain to get through everything - good luck!
  • Full length story - nearly 80,000 words of content in the story!
  • Content to keep you returning - an unlockable gallery of artwork and achievements will keep you playing through the game to find every last secret.
  • Beautiful anime-style artwork from our artist, misokatsuhaumai.
  • Multiple endings - what state will Susan be in by the time you've finished the story?
