Guide: Installing The Legend of the Heroes of the Three Kingdoms - Duplicated Version (Chapter 0 & 1) on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is The Legend of the Heroes of the Three Kingdoms - Duplicated Version (Chapter 0 & 1)? Features and Description

This game is a product of learning process by duplicating one of the best board strategy games made by KOEI in 1995. Memeries for 80s and 90s。

Solemn declaration: This game is developed for the developer to learn Unity and is not intended for any commercial use!

This game is based on "The Legend of the Heroes of the Three Kingdoms" published by Koei Company KOEI in 1995. The developer tried his best to restore the original work. However, due to limited time and tools, some game processes were simplified. This game restores the plot and dialogue of the original work to the greatest extent, as well as all the battle plots, and even the AI.

The developer has also improved some interfaces based on his own ideas, such as being able to save and load during battle; being able to directly arrange troops on the battle map; using shortcut keys (save S, load L, end of round E and map M); item exchange UI before the battle; purchasing items in bulk, etc.

A single-role and double-role mode is added, that is, the program restricts only selected role(s) to have attack ability. Liu Bei can only move and use item generating no experience. Other non-NPC roles will not go into battle or cannot be operated. Winning battle with 50-exp cannot be achieved.

The main purpose of doing this product is to reproduce the original work as much as possible, so there are basically no changes in the UI including music and sound effects. However, it can now support different resolutions or full screen. The battlefield can display up to 25 lines, so you can almost view the entire battlefield.

After selecting an NPC, the AI calculations hidden in the original work could be displayed. For example, the red grid will indicate the best movement plan for the NPC. After selecting a character, when the mouse moves to other characters, the damage, strategy success rate, counterattack rate, etc. can be displayed. It is equivalent to a smart calculator. It will give you a great help if you play along with the original version, hope you can level up to 99 as many as possible.
