Guide: Installing Find X : Find the Difference in 4D on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Find X : Find the Difference in 4D? Features and Description

"FindX is an all-age suitable first-person casual shooting game, where players need to find differences in two time-frozen and similar worlds, and use a variety of quirky weapons to address these discrepancies."

Game Introduction:

FindX is a 3D spot-the-difference game where you can freely walk around the space. Unlike traditional spot-the-difference games where you are confined to a 2D plane, in FindX you can move freely within the scene, firing bullets to select differences. This dynamic 3D setting immerses you and allows unrestricted movement to search every corner.

Game Features:

FindX offers a variety of puzzles, each designed to surprise you as much as possible. Don’t miss any corner, look up, and search down. You can also choose the difficulty level, aiming to complete each level to 100%. Are you up for the challenge? If you find yourself needing help, play with a friend or find spinning coins in the game and press the "H" key for hints. Rest assured, there are no intentionally scary elements in the game.

Game Design Concept:

The idea to design this game originated from a team member who is passionate about spot-the-difference games, but felt restricted by the 2D formats that lacked surprising elements. Following her suggestion and bringing her ideas to life, we discovered that making it a 3D, freely navigable spot-the-difference game was incredibly fun! We even defined a new mode for it, called single-player dual-screen game.

Future of the Game:

We welcome you to join our discussion group to share your suggestions and participate in new game designs.
