This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

-Travel through different scenarios like dark crystalline caves, villages, ruins, dungeons, and, mostly, lushful forests!
-Long boss fights (you're a tank, you will not do much damage!)
-Multiple endings and cinematics
-Terminals with lore and forgotten memories to relive
Gameplay:
Tanking the angered forces of nature is no easy task. While your resilience is impeccable, you're still a mortal being, and you will need all the tools you can get. Armor, potions, defensive spells, and even unique special objects or other sources to make yourself tankier are all very needed. Hordes of enemies will try to surround you, and will slowly but surely will try to tear you apart.
The gameplay may be in real time, but is not fast paced. You will need to manage you health, hunger, mana and cooldowns of your abilities at a moderate pace. The best way to survive is to manage these resources accordingly.
Survival Mode:
A secondary, arcade gamemode where you fight enemy waves that become increasingly difficult! Your only breaks are right after 6 waves, that's when you can spend all your money to upgrade your gear! How far can you get?
Story:
Something went terribly wrong. Nature is completely altered; earth itself is coming to life, animals are scared and the spirits are restless. The balance of existence itself, which is key for the stability of life has been altered beyond recognition. It's not the first time that this has happened, and it won't be the last. The price that the rational and the non-rational beings are paying in this world is heavy. Will you be able to stop this disaster? Of course you can. Otherwise no story would be told. But you're here to discover a lot more than that. Remove the nightmares of the innocent beings in this land, tank. Travel the path. Eat the path.
In every story, the path must be travelled. Heroes must do their part, otherwise, oblivion will take it all, leaving nothing in its path. Not even a single memory in the mind of thousands, alive and those who are not here yet. Fortunately for us, our mere natural existence makes all the difference in the world to shape it however we want. That's why we have to fight.
One day, when you finally understand the implications of all of this, you will become a illuminated soul.
The natural deterioration of the universe must be fought by the illuminated. Entropy is always present everywhere, so we have to be the ones who chose order.
There's a lot of places to discover while traveling the path. Perhaps you could dig out some information out of your past too...? The hidden secrets in these lands are key to understand this world. You will have to hunt them down to discover what really happened! But most importantly...
