Guide: Installing Spellbound FPS on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Spellbound FPS? Features and Description

First person shooter game based on the first part of the Spellbound series of books. You play as Damitri with his ability to use ice magic. The player will use snowballs and icicles to defeat enemies. They will use Laura's song or scream to heal yourself or hurt foes. 14 stages 4 bosses and 3 modes.

In this first-person role-playing game, you play as Damitri (the lead character of the Spellbound book series). He shoots snowballs and icicles from his hand representing his ice magic abilities. The player has a companion, Laura. She has abilities relating to sound. She can scream to destroy enemies or sing to heal the player. Eventually, two more characters join the party. The pause menu is a 2D still image of the characters frozen in time. A character with abilities relating to time and space assists the player by pausing time, reversing time either back to the beginning of the level, or the entire game.
In first person mode, the player will run as Damitri shooting as many snowballs and icicles at enemies such as zombies, mummies and possessed New Heat Guards. A character bio exists within the main menu. This gives is where most of the lore and backstories of the characters exist.
There are two other game play modes. The player will have a third person view of a rock creature that the player can control. A second racing/chase level exists with the player controlling a vehicle powered by fire magic in third person mode.
Occasional cutscenes show the player's location and any bosses or obstacles that may exist in the scene.
Some levels prevent you from pausing. This is due to the person with time and space magic being incapable of assisting in these locations.
The player can heal infinitely with the help of their companion. Although, a Game Over is very possible in areas of highly littered enemies.
