Guide: Installing Surfers Code on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Surfers Code? Features and Description

Non linear open world exploration surfing game. Explore the islands by jet ski while surfing and finding waves. A new wave and new adventure on each island as the stories of the islands unravel. Explore breaks with temples, sharks, contests, and pirates while getting barreled or pulling airs.

A Surf Game With Adventure  -  An Adventure Game With Surfing

Escape to the tropical islands as a traveling surfer.

Orient yourself by interacting with the quirky characters, and learn to surf. Get a jet ski and find a map to venture out beyond the comfort of the popular breaks accessible by boat. Collect new boards to complete your quiver, and discover new breaks.

                               The Outer Islands

Surfing is not the only draw to these islands. At the start you learn that "These islands are full of mystery and adventure." Unveil the secrets of the islands and the lore that unfolds by talking to other visitors, reading the journals of travelers, and exploring the outer islands by jet ski. As your adventure evolves you will find that things are not always as they seem.

          Insanely Cool Surfing

Physics based surfing, with simple controls and infinite possibilities. One button to tail slide, cutback, and do airs. Simulation design, which is easy to do but hard to do well. The expert surfers in the area will tell you that you have to control your speed, read the wave, pump for speed and schwack to a tail slide or air. Learning to do this well is up to you. The wave is an open canvas for you to draw upon. The wave scoring will show the progression of your abilities and how you are improving. Leaderboards are available at each break to test your ability against other surfers.

                              Surfboard Variety

Start with the simulation board, which is fine for the beginner break. Advance to more specialized boards, scattered about the islands. Get a big wave gun for big waves, a fast twin fin for speed and big airs, and pick up a couple of all around fun boards to complete your quiver.

          The Surf Breaks

Find surf breaks all over the islands. Start at the beginner break. A really fun easy wave with an easy takeoff turning into fast and slow sections requiring some skill and practice. Venture away from the crowds to discover and unlock various mysterious unknown breaks. Everything from shallow barreling reef breaks, to long point breaks, big outer deep water breaks, and fun performance waves.

          Players and Characters

You are not bound to one explorer. Choose from a variety of players. But know that each player affects the physics in the game. Change players and change the feel of the game, especially in the surfing.

Live Your Life According to The Surfers Code!
