Guide: Installing I Know This Place..? (chapter II) on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is I Know This Place..? (chapter II)? Features and Description

Chapter II of an extremely unusual trans-media franchise with game and short film chapters. Players influence the plot of the chapters and can leave their real-life items in the chapters. Game+Short films+visual novel. Ultra-deep meaning, nostalgic references, vibe mysticism.

Support this project by adding it to your WISHLIST and reposting on your social networks! We are creating it with a small independent team.

Chapter I in STEAM here if you have not yet touched this unusual world.

But you can immediately play Chapter II - inside there is a small intro with backstory.

“I Know This Place..?” Chapter II – this is a vibe mystical TRANS-MEDIA adventure with deep meaning in our strange game world, where you will see unusual plot twists, amazing locations and quirky characters.

And all of this can be influenced by you personally, because the plot of the chapters develops taking into account the votes of the players.

In addition to the chapters of the game, our universe will be revealed in short films (watch in the game main menu), old audio recordings and comics. And thanks to the introduction of ARG - games in alternative reality - we connect the world of the game and the real one.

What did scientist Vladimir Mashkov do and where is he? What's wrong with his apartment and the house in general. Such questions will torment you after visiting his strange apartment in Chapter I.

In Chapter II we will leave Vladimir's apartment in search of answers, encountering even more questions along the way. We are starting to move away from complete linearity, and are also introducing more opportunities for our players and viewers to add items and (attention) entire story locations to the game!

Do you have ideas for super strange plot twists, intriguing puzzles, and want to influence the plot of the next chapters?

Want to add your own memorable photo with a caption, or a photo of your grandmother to the game? Maybe some kind of memorable item, for example a book that your father loved to read as a child?

Or do you want to see in reality a children's room that no longer exists in real life? Grandfather's old car? Your father's garage or your grandmother's country house, in which a short story will unfold that you can write yourself with our help?

All this will now be available!

As you already know, players can add items by winning competitions in our public. Other players will see your item in the game, and even the history and information about it. But we decided to go further: in Chapter II you will be able to get your own location according to your idea and plot.
