Guide: Installing A Fool's Art Gallery on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is A Fool's Art Gallery? Features and Description

A Fool's Art Gallery contains over 20 years of visual content by one surreal expressionist psychedelic Canadian artist. You are a flying magical mask who s*!*s stars; be sure to look for secret doors to reveal hidden content as you explore the gallery at large. Hundreds of works of art await you!

A Fool's Art Gallery is an exploration game (Spoiler: You don't kill anyone.) set in my art gallery; spread across four huge levels; (With more to come.) designed in the spirit of LSD: Dream Emulator; a living work of art, a map of the subconscious and the occult, a blue print of the cosmos, a reflection of reality; constantly growing, evolving and changing over it's life span; a work of art composed of works of art; built inside the GZDOOM engine. The Gallery contains over 20 years of visual content by one surreal, expressionist psychedelic Canadian artist, making his last stand before AI Art wipes us all off the map; inspired by everything from the peak era of 80s and 90s comic book art, independent classical animation, and rock n roll to the Renaissance men, Cave Paintings and psychedelia; laid out in a stimulating environment, designed to relax your senses and massage your brain. The goal was to create a virtual art gallery, to circumvent the costs and taxes of a physical gallery, and the censorship of social media; which can run on most any PC, and to also produce a video game that is fun to move around inside of and experience as the player. The secondary goal with A Fool's Art Gallery is to fund the development of future titles.

You are a flying magical mask who s*!*s stars; be sure to look for secret doors to reveal hidden content as you explore the gallery at large, which contains an insane amount of content to consume. With future updates the contents of the content will be constantly expanded upon. One ticket, for a life time of access. No paid DLCs, no subscriptions. Galleries include 3 self published books, a handful of short story comics, hundreds of paintings, hundreds of pen and ink drawings, hundreds of digital drawings; carvings, masks, boats, alters dedicated to my cat The Amazing Mister Number Eight, and hand animated NPCs, all acting as a map of the psychomagical journey that is a human life.

With new art update roll outs, some NPCs and assets from future game releases by Reflection Frequency will make appearances and be added to A Fool's Art Gallery, keeping the roster fresh and ever expanding, creating a semi cohesive Universe of titles.

And finally; being crafted with our Lord and Saviour, the GZDOOM Engine; A Fool's Art Gallery is wide open to modification and custom level designs. with the GZDOOM Engine, you can access the core files, extract the art images themselves, and print them off to your heart's content.
