This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

CRYO is a cooperative horror game that combines various horror elements seen in many beloved horror titles, into a brand new experience set in the harsh landscape of Antarctica.
In CRYO, you and your team are technicians, sent to various locations within the antarctic circle at the behest of the powerful genetics company, ANGENEX. But these aren’t your run of the mill inspections. Communication has stopped and now, something sinister awaits. The cold is the least of your worries as terrifying, mutated abominations stalk the halls, hunting your every move. You’ll need to work together, strategize, and use your wits to survive and escape. Every decision matters, and every second counts in this high-stakes, cooperative horror experience. Will you make it out alive, or become just another frozen experiment? The choice is yours.
AI. Monsters in CRYO are driven by a complex AI system that will use various sensory and environmental cues to help it hunt.
Stealth. Use lockers and crouching to sneak around to avoid being detected.
Multiple Monsters. Each game, a new monster is selected at random. Monsters behave differently to one another, some rely on brute force where as others will utilise the environment to sneak around.
Objectives. You must complete your primary objectives on a map, this can involve puzzles and finding items. These objectives randomise each time so you may have to visit new areas each time you play.
Procedural item placement. Items are placed around the map each round in various logical locations. They can be hidden in cupboards and drawers, on desks or even behind locked doors.
Environmental Hazards. The antarctic is an unforgiving landscape. Players will need to plan ahead if they wish to succeed.
Escape Routes. Should you wish to succeed, you will need to find a way out. There are multiple options of escape each map, however, many will have limited spaces...
Difficulty. CRYO has multiple difficulty options that scale both the scarceness of items but also increase the intelligence of the AI. Teamwork and quick thinking will serve you well.
Co-op at heart. While playable solo, teamwork will make your life easy. Everything is designed with cooperative play in mind. Play with 1-4 players per lobby!
Tools. Various tools are available in CRYO, from music players and cameras to motion detectors. How you choose to use them is up to you.
