Guide: Installing Dragon's Ruler on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Dragon's Ruler? Features and Description

This is a single-player, turn-based strategy war game set in a fantasy world. With over 130 different units, strategize to maintain a balance between governance and military strength as you aim for territorial expansion!

■ Game Overview

Dragon's Ruler is a single-player, turn-based strategy wargame set in a fantasy world.
Players freely choose a small country of their choice from 108 territories on continents and islands to become king,
The player controls more than 130 different types of units to expand his/her territory and rebuild his/her country through internal administration and wars.

The world has collapsed and been divided by the appearance of a "mad old dragon.
The dragon leads an army of demons and approaches the player's territory.
Some of the demons, with their various personalities, will join the player's army.
The world will be enveloped in darkness unless you use the power of the demons to stop the dragon's rampage!

■ About the Game System
.
The game is a command-based strategy in which 108 territories take turns in a fixed order.
When it is the player's turn to take control of a territory, he or she can take control of it.

Each territory can employ up to 10 units.
The units invade the territory of another country and fight each other,
If the defender is completely wiped out, the player gains control of the territory.

All countries not selected by the player in the initial country selection are controlled by the CPU as enemy countries.
The game saves the game status in auto-save mode, and up to 6 locations can be saved.

■ Controls

Simple mouse operation.

■ Commands

Players select actions from command icons to advance the game.
In the beginning of the game, the player has initial funds to purchase units,
In order to increase the funds, the player must collect taxes from the territory's inhabitants.
To increase your capital, you must collect taxes from your territory's inhabitants by using commands such as "cultivate farmland" and "develop mines",
You can make your units work to enrich your country and increase tax revenues.
Different units are good or bad at different types of work.

Building Walls" will increase the defender's defensive capability when attacked by the enemy, giving him an advantage in battle.
Explore the territory to find rare units and dungeons.
Plotting" can also be used to reduce the loyalty of enemy units and make them disappear.
Public Investment" can be used to revitalize industry and culture.

You can use these commands to make your units do their jobs,
The basic flow of the game is to strengthen your country's power and win wars against other countries.

■ Combat
.
When a unit is moved into enemy territory, the game changes from a look-down map screen to a horizontal viewpoint combat screen.
Units act automatically according to their status, and the battle proceeds semi-automatically.
The battle ends when the defending side is annihilated or the invading side retreats or is wiped out.

The terrain of the battlefield has a large impact on warfare, and each unit has its own strengths and weaknesses.
For example, units that are good in "mountainous areas" will have high defense in mountainous areas.

In addition, during battle, there is the concept of time, and the strength of units changes depending on whether it is day or night.
For example, a unit that is good at night will be stronger at night and weaker during the day.
Some units are not affected by time.

■ Units

Units become stronger as they gain experience in battle,
Some units can evolve into other units.

■ Internal Affairs
.
Internal politics is also important in running a country.
Each territory can have a "lord" by appointing units.
Units have three temperaments: low, chaotic, and neutral,
The loyalty of the units in the same unit goes up or down depending on the temperament of the lord.
If a unit loses its loyalty, it will disappear,
Therefore, it is necessary to manage the loyalty of your troops.

.
The intelligence and attractiveness of the lord also affect the well-being of the people and the civilization of the territory.
In addition, the king has many other tasks, such as deciding the main crops of the territory and the tax rate.
Crops may not grow in all climates, disasters, or in all areas of the land, and this may require some trial and error.

■ Events

You may encounter unexpected troubles such as floods or revolts.
Volunteer soldiers may appear or units may disappear from their units.
