Guide: Installing Bramble Royale: A Meteorfall Story on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Bramble Royale: A Meteorfall Story? Features and Description

Bramble Royale is a wild, no-holds barred card brawl in the wacky world of Meteorfall. Build a face-melting deck, break the rules, and stomp your opponents in this fast-paced & fresh take on roguelike deckbuilders.

Welcome to the Bramble Royale - the great tournament in all of Meteorfall - where the likes of sozzled bearbearians and nuke-addled snotwolves battle it out for a chance to win the legendary Mask of the Uberlich. Win over legions of fans and help fill Bramble’s pockets as he seeks to rebuild his once-mighty arena.

Play cards, maneuver your allies, and brawl in fast-paced battles.

Winning the Bramble Royale isn't about fighting fair - it's about winning. The crowd demands spectacle! Take advantage of Wild Cards to change the rules of the brawl, exploiting them to your advantage.

          • Mix-and-match multiple upgrades on a single card to build overpowered combos
          • Impress the crowd and power-up in battle by completing challenging feats
          • Build your dream team of 3 heroes (from a pool of 8), each with their own unique set of cards
          • Discover more than 200 cards to turn the tides of battle in your favor

Poor, sad Bramble. One night, in a fit of idiocy, he gambled away the rights to his coliseum in a seedy saloon at the far reaches of Meteorfall.

While moping around the wastelands the next morning, he happened upon a mask that once belonged to the villainous Uberlich himself. The gears began to turn (albeit slowly) in that grizzled brown head of his. Some time later, a very rare stroke of genius befell him: he could offer the Mask of the Uberlich as the ultimate prize in a new tournament, attract the greatest heroes and deepest-pocketed fans, and rebuild his mighty Arena!

And thus, that fateful tournament, dubbed “The Bramble Royale” was first conceived. However, as Bramble later realized - sometimes when you hit rock bottom, life hands you a shovel.

Between bouts in the arena, you'll take a break in Bramble Town, where you'll have an opportunity to upgrade your cards, train your heroes, or just enjoy the sights. There's not enough time between brawls to do it all, so you'll have to make critical decisions about which vendors you want to visit.

Deckbuilders sometimes take too long and don't always respect your time. Bramble Royale has been designed from the ground up to be not just deep and challenging, but also quick to play.

          • Average run length of 45 minutes or less
          • Unlockable content that expands tactical options without power creep
          • Full content unlock option available in Settings

Bramble Royale is the third game in the Meteorfall series. The first was Meteorfall (2017) followed by Krumit's Tale (2019). You don't need to play other games in the series to enjoy Bramble Royale. Each game has very different mechanics, but take place in the same universe and have many of the same characters.

Despite the mechnical differences, Bramble Royale carries on the series tradition with a common theme of card-based combat, wacky characters and a roguelike gameplay loop.
