Guide: Installing Project RBG on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

System Requirements

Windows Pc Requirements

Minimum:
  • OS: Windows 7 32 Bit
  • Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz or equivalent
  • Graphics: Any Non-Intel Integrated Graphics.
  • Storage: 100 MB available space
  • Sound Card: Something that can play your standard like ogg and wav files.
  • Additional Notes: I'm going to be honest and say that these are guesses or whatever lowest quality thing that the dev team has that can still run the game. There will (probably and hopefully) be a special build for players with Intel integrated graphics.

Recommended:
  • OS: Windows 10/11 64 Bit
  • Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super
  • Sound Card: Yes
  • Additional Notes: I'm just putting what I use here - GamEsnitzhel [Programmer]

What is Project RBG? Features and Description

A fast paced FPS party game. Each round is a different minigame with a unique map. Collect points to buy upgrades and destroy your friends in The Final Round. Last one standing takes the cake!

A fast paced first person shooter where each round has a minigame and map. After enough points have been collected, you go to The Shop to buy upgrades for The Final Round. Last one standing takes the cake!

There are currently 2 maps and 7 minigames.

Minigames:
• Low Health Hunger (LHH) - Each time you eliminate someone, you gain health.
• Sneaky Sacrifice (SS) - With one shot before each reload, each bullet is powerful enough to eliminate anyone at any range.
• Hacking Haywire (HH) - Also confused with Haywire Hacking, someone seems to have messed with the guns. The stats have been improved but they can just barely do 99 damage per clip.
• Recoil Rage (RR) - Guns are quite heavy sometimes, and you don't seem to have arms. Each time you shoot, the recoil is hard to deal with.
• Shotgun Rangers (SR) - You now have a 10 bullet shotgun which fires 5 of it's pellets per shot.
• Burst Rifle Mayhem (BRM) - Let's have some fun, burst rifles can be quite fun to shoot, so why not have one?
• Bullets on Bullets (BOB) - Once you shoot, you can't stop. You have 99 bullets in each clip, and once you start shooting, every single bullet will be shot.

After enough minigames have been played so players have a lot of points, The Countdown Round will begin. The Countdown Round is a final round before The Shop to gain as many points as possible. After that round has finished, everyone goes to The Shop. In The Shop, players use both the points that they have collected, as well as any Cake Bonus points that they have earned as well. After leaving the shop, everyone takes what they purchase and has one last battle.
