This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Play as 1 of 3 factions in the fight for control of Domusalus, but beware the Kaecillian menace who threaten both locals and warring factions. Deploy with your gear, search for upgraded loot, and escape in time to keep it for your next assault for planetary dominance.
Leviathan is a multiplayer extraction shooter set in a sci-fi universe where humanity has been abducted by a gargantuan, interstellar beast and changed over the course of several millennia. The abducted were ultimately discarded onto foreign planets. To survive, they have been forced to evolved into three factions of biologically and ideologically distinct lifeforms. Recently, a second wave of abductions have occurred. Fate has brought them together to the surface of the bountiful world of Domusalus; where only ONE FACTION can establish dominance for their survival.
• Terran – Strength is paramount, and a chance to demonstrate their might to the weaker factions will surely ensure dominance. Furthermore, Domusalus is rich in resources of which their home planet is greatly lacking. After living in such hostile environments, the Terran have no intentions of sharing – and the other factions are simply in the way.
• Faunian – They believe in the preservation of all life… but should any being show disregard to this most sacred ideal, they will work to destroy the aberration at all costs. In seeing the other factions taking advantage of the planet’s resources, the Faunian look quickly to protect it, even if it means total destruction of the opposition.
• Angel – With their golden metallic bodies, the Angel have all but discarded their humanity. In doing so, however, they have become virtually immortal and look to transform all other lifeforms in the same way. Believing that this is the only way for advancement, any who resist are looked at as lesser beings that require immediate extermination.
• Three playable factions – each with a mysterious shared history!
• Hundreds of items - weapons, ammo, armor, grenades, restoratives and more!
• Explore the “Aurelian Wilds” - a HUGE map offering unique areas, enemies, loot and extractions!
• High risk/High reward - fight against (and loot!) both AI and Player opponents!
• Play solo or in teams of three – take the loot for yourself OR work together to enhance survivability!
• Capture outposts – make your mark to boost your faction's domination over the planet!
