Guide: Installing Orbit-X on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Orbit-X? Features and Description

Launch a rocket. Extend the Antenna. Set your internet service price and start making money. Oh and shoot down asteroids if they threaten your satellites.

Launch Rockets, Make money.

Your Uncle, Alon Munk, the famous rocket/satellite entrepreneur, has died and left you his fortune, and his new satellite internet company.

Your goal is simple. Launch Rockets, Make money. Create the worlds first Global Satellite Internet Service... I guess you might call it a link in the stars? Or maybe some sort of Star Link? Not sure yet, obviously the name needs work.

Your job as CEO will involve many challenges. Every satellite you launch enables more customers to choose your internet service, but bad latency will drive them away, so don't make your orbits too large... but also, don't put them so close that they crash into each other... its a real balancing act.

Space is dangerous, rockets crash, Asteroids are big, Fuel is expensive, and the EPA will fine you for polluting the atmosphere with Rocket debris.

Luckily for you, Your Uncle was also a little eccentric so has designed the rocket/satellites to be mounted with Point Defence Cannons in order to shoot down anything that might cause a disruption to your internet service. Whether that's Asteroids, Aliens or even your own Rockets.

Orbit-X simulates a tiny little planet that provides a simple entry into rocket physics, with no need to study rocket science to play

Within seconds of starting you will be flying rockets and putting them in orbit. Once you enable the Antenna on a rocket it will start connecting people to the Interwebs and you start making money! But be careful not to charge too much for slow internet.

You might lose a rocket or two if an asteroid comes along, but once you upgrade your facilities you can load up your rockets with Ammo and start shooting them down. Let's be honest if anyone was going to put Machine Guns on Rockets, it was going to be your Uncle, Alon.

When you see your rocket fleet dancing around the planet, making beautiful shapes with their trails, you will smile... Then when two of them collide and three more get taken out by an asteroid, you will cry... But if you have managed your funds well, you can just launch more!
