Guide: Installing Glaze 3D on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Glaze 3D? Features and Description

Glaze 3D is a model repair and upgrade tool designed for modelers or hobbyists looking to revamp old assets.

Glaze 3D is a model repair and upgrade tool designed for modelers or hobbyists looking to revamp old assets. The program allows users to load individual model files of various filetypes, edit and manipulate them, and export the scene as a single file.

MAIN FUNCTIONALITIES:
- render models in scene using an advanced renderer to accurately simulate real-time reflection, multi-bouce indirect lighting, and raytraced shadows.
- Import and edit model files so that they can be imported properly into your development engine of choice.
- Update materials to use Pixar's 'Principled BSDF' model so that they attain the proper level of realism and depth.
- Convert textures from metal-roughness workflow to specular-glossiness and vice versa.
- Save cubemap textures created by screenshot in high-res.
- Save textures, cubemaps, other data to float value textures (like .HDR or .DDS) or database files
(.csv, .db, etc).

ANCILLARY FUNCTIONALITIES:
- Material converter from ad hoc traditional model to modern BRSF workflows with design standards for PBR from several major apps and APIs.
- Construct a scene tree graph and export it to a single file.
- Load several objects into a project and save them as a single file.
- Import any model, fix it, then export to a wide range of file types (ASSIMP can import/export roughly 50 filetypes).
- Generate different material textures from a given texture (for example, a normal map or ambient occlusion map).
- Edit and combine textures. For example, via the texture editor's utilities it is possible to convert normal maps to/from single-channel bump map to 2/3 channel normal map.
- Generate over 7+ types of noise textures
- Edit and combine textures into a single texture

FEATURES TO COME:
- In-app image editor a la MS Paint
- Select multiple files/objects/folders, then run the model fixer on them.
- Test/apply/save decals from cut sheets to models and save the model
- Model painting
- Upscale textures via machine learning algorithm
- Volumetric fog tool
- Procedural foliage generation
- In-app shader editor
- Bake light maps, normal/specular/ambient occlusion maps
- Mesh tools to smooth UVs, subdivide faces, simplify mesh geometry, etc.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT OUR PRODUCT:
- Other editors and tools have user interfaces which are complex, ever-changing, and unfriendly to novice users. Glaze 3D has a very simple, user-friendly interface.
- Other tools may have a more limited range of model or texture files which they can import or export. Glaze 3D strives for a great amount of accessibility.
- Other tools sometimes do not allow users to export created noise textures easily without using a complex baking process. Glaze 3D make saving generated textures easy.

SUPPORTED FILE TYPES:
Models: .obj, .fbx, .gltf, .dae, .3ds, and many more (50+ filetypes)
Textures: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .dds, .bmp, .tiff, .tif, .pbm, .ppm, .pgm
Video: .mp4, .mov, .divx, .avi, xvid, .mjpg, .x264, .wmv1, .wmv2
