Guide: Installing Foglight on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Foglight? Features and Description

Trapped on an Island, you are hunted by a monster that will never stop. Can you outsmart it?

Foglight is a single player horror game set around a "pursuer" that pushes the player to think on their feet.
You play as a new Lighthouse Keeper, known as a Wickie, that finds out they are not alone on the night's watch. Brains over brawn is the focus of the game. Your enemy will always pursue you, and you will need to figure out how to stay one step ahead of the curve. Open world, the game has multiple endings depending on how you play. Best of luck!

Note: Youtubers are welcome to make videos or broadcast of this game.

Lean left/right: Q,E

Features:

An AI that does not "Cheat"
Unlike in other horror games, this AI plays by the same rules as the player.

Free Roam
The game is set on an open Island, that the players are free to explore. The game was targeted to have a full runtime under 3 hours depending on your skill and playstyle (if you are new to horror games or just like to rush through, your playtime time will be very different). Save spots are rare, as the game was intended to be very challenging.

Survival Horror
You will be faced with a Foe that will never stop coming after you. Never. The AI is on a bell curve that will make it try harder as time goes on. Areas that were once safe, may not be safe etc.

Challenging Puzzles
The Island is packed full of secrets and puzzles for you to explore. Take note that these puzzles are not for the faint of heart, and can be difficult even to seasoned horror game players.

Replay Value
As the player roams the island, they will set into motion one of three endings (2 + 1 secret) that vary widely from the other. Players are encouraged to post which playthrough they got first and play again to get the second. The endings are based on if the player is more of a "Fight or Flight" gamer.

Story and Atmosphere
The game is packed full of lore, notes and clues, for the player to explore and read up on. Turn the lights off, pull your chair up, and be ready to get scared!
