How to Download HUMANKIND™ - Victor OpenDev

1. Click on the HUMANKIND™ - Victor OpenDev download button below.
2. Choose "Install" to install the game on the windows steam client.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts
4. Let it download the Full Version.
5. Once a game is downloaded, use the Windows Steam Client to play the game.

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

OpenDev is a series of targeted gameplay scenarios that we’ve been introducing to players as our way of collecting feedback from the community to help us to shape the game.

Our newest scenario will be available from April 22nd at 06:00 PDT / 09:00 EDT / 15:00 CEST to May 3rd at 7:00 PDT / 10:00 EDT / 16:00 CEST.

QUESTIONS

What is included in the Victor OpenDev?

• 40 cultures: Play through 4 full gameplay eras or 150 turns, whichever comes first. Each era, you’ll get to choose from among 10 different cultures, each with their own unique gameplay attributes.
  
• Master battles on land & sea: To many, the Early Modern era (Era 4) was known for exploration and seafaring mastery. Discover a new map and go beyond skirmishes and wage more advanced and intricate warfare.
  
• Conduct diplomacy with 7 AI opponents: Test out our contextual diplomacy system and give us some feedback to improve it for release. See how much Fame you can earn and compare scores with your friends!
  
• Play as Victor Hugo: leave your mark on Humankind as the French author of Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. At launch, the Victor Hugo avatar will only be included in the Deluxe Edition’s Notre-Dame pack.
  
• Face your favorite content creators: Lomadiah, Burke Black, ZeratoR and more now have their own avatar in HUMANKIND, each with their distinct personality. Will you earn the most fame against them?

How can I join?

How to redeem your access to the Victor OpenDev?

If you already played the Lucy OpenDev, then the Victor OpenDev should already be in your library. If not, please follow these steps:

1) Make sure that HUMANKIND™ is in your Steam library.
a. If you have pre-purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam, it should be there already.
b. If you have purchased a Steam key from another retailer, you must Redeem the key on Steam first before proceeding to the next step

2) Visit GAMES2GETHER
a. If you already have an account, go ahead and login
b. If you do not have an account, please create one

3) Steam connect your G2G account on the rewards page here. If you have already connected your account in the past, you may need to re-sync

4) Click on the “Victor OpenDev” reward and hit Redeem.

5) Go back to your Steam library, and Humankind – Victor OpenDev should appear there automatically



In what regions will HUMANKIND™ Victor OpenDev be available?

OpenDev will be available worldwide, but will only be playable in English. HUMANKIND™ will however be localized in several other languages at its release.

How long will the OpenDev game stay in my Steam library?

Victor OpenDev will be available from April 22nd at 06:00 PDT / 09:00 EDT / 15:00 CEST to May 3rd at 07:00 PDT / 10:00 EDT / 16:00 CEST.
