How to Download The Old War

1. Click on the The Old War download button below.
2. Choose "Install" to install the game on the windows steam client.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts
4. Let it download the Full Version.
5. Once a game is downloaded, use the Windows Steam Client to play the game.

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

This is an indie-developed co-op strategy game set in a dark medieval fantasy world.

It has been a generation since the mists came. They swept over the empire like a wrathful god and enveloped the lands in their cold embrace. Cities and towns were swallowed and cut off from the rest of the world. Any who entered the mists disappeared, never to return.

Finally, the mists have lifted and revealed what was hidden for a generation. Where once there was rich soil, beautiful forests and plenty of game, there is now blackened dirt, strange plants and twisted beasts. Dark creatures and monsters inhabit the new world, and where before there were towns and villages there is not a trace.

Rebuild your village, explore the new world. Reunite the lost empire.

LEAD YOUR PEOPLE
You must lead your people out into the new world. Choose your leadership style. Will you be an effective administrator? Dominate your foes in combat? Or will you harness the chaos, using spectacular magical powers?

BUILD A CITY
Create a burgeoning city out of the ashes. Develop your resources, research new technologies, and put your people to work. Invest in better training or superior buildings and make your city the center of a blossoming new empire.

TRAIN A CUSTOMIZABLE ARMY
Your army stays with you throughout the game, so take care of them! Every loss is one less fighter for humanity. Purchase upgrades and equipment, gain experience, and learn new abilities. Each unit has the capability to become a mighty hero, or becoming another forgotten name.

COMPLETE STRATEGIC QUESTS
Follow the main questline of each territory, or do side quests to bolster your forces.
Train a veteran army of knights, hire conscripts, or recruit wanderers from the forests. Take out your enemy supplies, befriend the local towns, or knock down the front door. The choice is yours in how you defeat your foes.

ENGAGE NEUTRAL FACTIONS
Many a strange creature has survived the mists. Clans, creatures, towns and cities have survived the onslaught. Make alliances, trade, or wipe them off the face of the earth.

PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS
With a new civilization comes new responsibilities. Divide the labour by enlisting a friend to develop your mines, construct your cities, or explore the world. There are a thousand different jobs needed to be done, and who better than your friends?
