Guide: Installing The Last King Prologue on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

The prologue of "The Last King" serves as a crucial introductory segment to the game's narrative, offering players a glimpse into the events that transpired just before the main story-line begins. This section of the game provides essential context and sets the stage for the challenges and conflicts the player will face.

In this prologue, players find themselves in the role of a key character, presumably the ruler or a prominent figure within their kingdom. Their surroundings are the very heart of their domain – their kingdom. However, this seemingly tranquil moment is marred by the impending threat of a Persian attack, an event that will have profound implications for the kingdom and its people.
The primary objective during this prologue is to prepare for the imminent Persian assault.

Key Features:

Battle Against Fierce Foes:

Command your army with precision, employing a variety of tactics and formations to outmaneuver and overpower your adversaries.

Recruit, Train, and Equip Your Army:

Recruit skilled soldiers, train them in the art of war, and equip them with powerful weapons and armor.

Build Your Base:

Construct and fortify your own base, shaping it into a bastion of power and safety. Customize your defenses, establish resource production, and strategize to withstand enemy assaults.

Survive and Thrive in an Open World:

Explore a sprawling and dynamic open world, ravaged by war. Adapt to the harsh conditions of the wilderness, scavenge for resources, and master the art of survival in an unforgiving open world.

Free Greek Villages:

Fight to liberate Greek villages that have fallen under enemy control. Storm enemy camps, destroy their strongholds, and rescue innocent civilians from oppression. Your heroic deeds will inspire hope and rally the people to your cause.

Play Your Way:

Choose your preferred playstyle and specialize in a variety of combat roles. Master the art of the spear, wield a mighty sword, or rain death from afar as a skilled archer. Tailor your skills and abilities to suit your personal combat preferences and become a legendary warrior of ancient Greece.

This prologue not only introduces players to the game's mechanics but also imparts a sense of urgency and responsibility. It forces players to make decisions that will affect the course of the game, such as how to allocate resources between strengthening defenses and preparing the army. It also sets the tone for the overarching theme of defense and strategy that will be prevalent throughout "The Last King."
