This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
If your computer was given a double-dose of Benadryl, this is the nightmare it'd have. How much blood can you keep while you study and work?
THIS IS A TRANSPARENT GAME It's intentionally designed to let you see and interact with your computer background! Multitask and play other games simultaneously if you want, this game will stay on top of other programs even while you interact with other windows below it!
^A lot of time was put into making it work this way.
The bucket's always been yours. Collect what you can to feed the younger ones. There should be enough to go around... You wouldn't want to be left alone now, would you?

Increase the amount of blood you have by collecting it in a bucket.
Using only your computer-mouse, harvest living matter: Trap rats, dig through meat to find maggots, rip through the slabs with a chainsaw to create easily digestible chunks.
Upgrade your tools with your harvested stock.
More blood means more tools, more tools means more blood and you always need more blood.
Character pop-ups with lore. Help them survive to learn more.
Continue about your life as you normally would while this is happening. The game is meant to be played alongside your normal, routine-use of your computer. Reply to emails, take video calls, do whatever you normally do while you play to get the full experience.
Resizable game-space! You decide how much of the screen the game covers. Using your computer's capability for spawning see-through windows, the game stays front-and-center while you work, study and stalk your prey! You can even play other games behind it!
Hide individual windows! Want to get at something behind one of the windows? You can hide it and keep playing.
Customizable Game Speed! While some people (myself included) like to be involved and interacting moment to moment, you can slow things down so there's less of a chance of something major happening while you go to the bathroom to vomit a mosaic (in real life!)
Switch monitors! Through the in-game drop-down automatically move all the windows over to whichever monitor you want them on and they automatically resize!
Nonlinear progression through horrifying, lore-rich chapters in different environments and skins! (literally, skins! Some flesh and fat too if you're into that!)
Disturbing Imagery and Tone
Relaxing Lullaby Music
Lurid Lore
Tons of secrets!
More than meats the eye! A Unique combination of the clicker/idler with experimental features usually found in Adventure Games, Visual Novels and Interactive Fiction.
20 languages! Take your pick! Speak in tongues!
And an Online Leaderboard!

Dadaism is an early 20th-century avant-garde, anti-establishment movement that emerged as a protest against the senselessness of the politics of its time. Characterized by its embrace of the illogical, irrational, and absurd, Dadaists challenged traditional artistic, social, and cultural conventions, ultimately influencing the Surrealists.
In the face of the dichotomy between the current political/ideological chaos and the sheer gall of the ineptitude of our corrupt leaders, both nationally and globally, and the tightening stranglehold of tyrannical power-grabs & far-reaching censorship while political assassinations and coverups are being carried out with obvious patsies and tampered-if-not-withheld evidence, and the blatant lies pushed through the bowels of the media by tech companies working for private government organizations who in turn have been shown to be blackmailed by foreign interests who are exploiting us and using our government to further the violent ends of their own religious delusions...
Let's just say the State of affairs is on a spiral of decline far steeper than it was when Dadaism first formed. In response, the culture has shifted. Everything is more emotionally cataclysmic, spiritually catatonic, and psychologically castrated. it's only natural for a human response to reflect this darkness through grim absurdity. Keep the blood flowing and continue about your life as you normally would while this is happening.
